All entries must follow rules for sled pulling.

RULES FOR SLED PULLING

Revised August 2006

  1. All pulls must start from a tight hitch. No jerking will be permitted. Contestants will be allowed two attempts to move the sled to reach 50-ft. stake.
  2. Any contestants attempting to pull before the proper signal from the flagman will be disqualified. Tractors must stop immediately upon signal from the flagman.
  3. Drivers must remain in the seat at all times during the pull and have complete control of the pulling vehicle at all times. They must have hand or arm contact with the steering wheel at all times.
  4. Contestants must pull in position drawn; any delay may cause disqualification.
  5. Before hitching or after unhitching from the sled, driver shall operate his vehicle at such speed as to be in full control of vehicle at all times. Any excessive speed or recklessness will be grounds for disqualification. Tractors must be operated in a safe manner at all times or will be disqualified for that day’s pull. All prizes and points will be removed from that day’s pull.
  6. After weigh-in, weights cannot be added to tractor, but may be relocated. No gas may be added except after the second pull. Tanks should be full upon weigh-in.
  7. Hitch must be sturdy and strong.
  8. All weights must be hung or attached in such a way that they will not fall off the tractor or drag on the track. If this happens you will be disqualified.
  9. All exposed final drives, belts, clutches, flywheels, pulleys, and gears must be covered to prevent injury to the driver.
  10. Must have signed a liability waiver. Parent or guardian must sign for minor.
  11. Must be in neutral gear with hands in the air while being hooked to the sled.
  12. Do not start until the flagman gives the green flag.
  13. Pulling tractors must remain within the marked boundaries of the track during the pull or be disqualified. The sled may go past the boundaries.
  14. The pull shall be considered over when the forward motion of the sled stops. The flagman shall hold hole digging to a minimum.
  15. Flagman will be located at the end of the track. When the red flag is waved, the tractor must stop.
  16. Must be in neutral gear with hands in the air while being unhooked.
  17. Track official’s calls are considered final.
  18. Mandatory: 12 and under, must pull with a remote kill switch.
  19. 1100 lbs. Turf, 1100 lbs. Tractor, 1100 lbs. Altered stock, 1200 lbs. Modified must have wheelie bars.
  20. Wheelie bars must be sturdy, maximum of 5 inches above ground and minimum of 3 inches from tires.
  21. Hitch hole must be minimum of ¾ inch.
  22. Hitch must be clear of all obstructions.
  23. Any tractor running above 3600 RPMs must have scatter shields or scatter blankets on crank case and clutch.
  24. Max. tire size – 26 x 12 x 12 for all classes except Cubs.
Lawn-Tractor Pull Classes:

700 and 800 lbs. Classes

700 lbs. Class – kids 12 and under.

800 lbs. Class – adults 18 and over.

  1. Stock: As it was purchased.
  2. Pump gas only.
  3. Pull in 1stgear only.
  4. Maximum RPMs 3600.
  5. Hitch height maximum 9-inches.
  6. Hitch maximum distance back from center of axle 11-inches.
  7. Weights can be added.
  8. Mower decks are optional.
  9. Turf tires only; no cut tires.

900 lbs. and 1100 lbs. Altered Stock

900 lbs. – 9-inch hitch height.

1100 lbs. – 13-inch height.

  1. Any stock tractor with any stock trailer part.
  2. Pump gas only.
  3. Pull in any gear.
  4. Max. RPMs – 4500.
  5. Hitch maximum distance back from axle 11-inches.
  6. Weights can be added.
  7. No mower decks.
  8. Pull any tire.

1100 lbs. Turf and 1100 lbs. Tractor

1100 turf – 1stgear only.

1100 tractor – any gear and any tire.

  1. Stock as it was purchased.
  2. Pump gas only.
  3. Maximum RPMs 3600.
  4. Hitch height maximum 13-inches.
  5. Hitch maximum distance back from axle 11-inches.
  6. Weights can be added.
  7. Mower decks optional.
  8. 1100 lbs. Tractor, pull any tire.

1200 lbs. Modified

  1. Maximum hitch height 13-inches.
  2. Hitch maximum distance back from center of axle 11-inches.
  3. No mower decks.
  4. Any tractor running alcohol, driver must wear a firesuit.
