What are the dates of the 2014 Greater Baton Rouge State Fair?

What are the hours of the fair?

We open at 5:00PM Mon. thru Fri. and noon on Sat. & Sun.
We will close at 10PM every night.

How much does it cost to go to the fair?

Gate admission is $5 for anyone 48 inches tall and over. Anyone who rides the rides must have either individual coupons or a ride wristband. Wristbands may be purchased on the midway for $25.00. Ride coupons are $1.00 each. The number of coupons needed varies from ride to ride. Purchase of a wristband allows you unlimited rides.

Can I buy discount tickets to the fair?

You can save $10 by purchasing a discount ticket that includes gate admission and a ride wristband. This can be purchased for $20 from Cracker Barrel Convenience Stores, Walgreens Drug Stores or by pressing the "Buy Tickets Now" button on our website beginning a few weeks before the fair opens. Other promotions may be announced.

Can I get a refund on my ticket?

We're sorry but there are no refunds on tickets.

Is there a charge for parking?

Parking is free.

Are ATM's available on the fairgrounds?

Yes. There is an ATM located between the food court and the carnival midway.

May I bring my pet to the fair?

Only service animals are allowed on the fairgrounds.

May I bring food and/or drinks into the fair?

No food or any type of drink may be brought into the fair.

Is there an additional charge to see the stage shows at the fair?

All shows and attractions are included with your gate admission.

If I need to leave the fairgrounds, am I allowed to come back later that day?

Same day re-entry is allowed with a ride wristband. If you do not have a wristband, see the exit guard for a re-entry pass.

How many rides are there on the carnival midway?

The carnival midway has over 40 rides including rides for every age group.

Are there any restrictions on riding the rides?

Anyone with a cast cannot ride most rides. Pregnant women should contact the midway office to determine which rides they may be able to ride.

How did the fair begin?

The Greater Baton Rouge State Fair began as a trade show in 1965 as a project of the Baton Rouge Jaycees. Click here for more information.

Who puts on the fair and where do the proceeds go?

The Greater Baton Rouge State Fair is run by an all-volunteer Fair Board and is staffed by dedicated volunteers. To date over $2,400,000 has been donated to youth-oriented worthy causes in the Greater Baton Rouge area.

What should I do if I lose something at the fair?

Contact a Sheriff's Deputy who will direct you to the Lost and Found. If you discover a missing item after you have left the fairgrounds call (225) 755-FAIR.

What are the new security measures for the fair this year?

Scans with a hand wand will be performed upon entering the fair. The policy of both the Greater Baton Rouge State Fair and BREC is "No weapons will be allowed inside the fairgrounds."
